Calendar days do not need to be zero. It is the number of days debited that would be zero if the day is an off day. In the counting rules for the absence type, you can count a day if the no.of hrs in the daily work schedule (DWS) is more than zero, if it is Mon, Tue, etc, if a public holiday etc. - see Counting rules for Absence/attendance in IMG (table T556C). Then you assign the counting rules to the abs/att type.
