Organizational Key in SAP HR
 The organizational key is used for authorization checks
 Organizational key is used to carried out an additional org assignment for your employee by using this org key you can refine both the enterprises and the personnel structure , it is made up of 14 characteristics, this is one of the field in the organizational assignment, VDSK1 feature to maintain this feature by using t .code PE03

What is meant by organization key and how does it work?
Organization key is used for authorization purpose and here you can assign other dept./org. unit for the employee. To assign the key, use the VDSK1 feature and make the correct default value.
Definition: Field in authorization objects that is used to run diverse authorization checks by organizational assignment (using the P_ORGIN authorization object).
The content of the organizational key is either derived by the system from the fields of the Organizational Assignment Infotype (0001) or entered manually by the user.

Organizational key: Maintain feature VDSK1:
 Organizational key default values are defined in the feature VDSK1.
 Change the existing node to the rule you have created to make it the default Organizational Key in IT0001, while hiring.
Organizational key: Control:
 Assign the Validation to the rule you are going to create.
Organizational key: Creation rules:
 Create the rule according to your requirements.
 If you want to combine two fields to form the Organizational Key then create the rule with two sequential numbers. For example, WERKS (Personnel Area) and KOSTL (Cost Center) fields can be combined to form the Organizational Key.
VDSK1 feature basically allow you to define simple to complex authorization structure.

Key can consist of 14 characters, which are two or more fields or part of fields

One example is XXXXAABBBB
XXX = Personnel Sub Area
AA = First two characters of Cost Center (for eg Business unit)
BBBB = last 4 characters of cost center (for eg Location Code)
