Reply from Saptechza on May 18 at 1:49 AM Hi all, I became really annoyed with the stupidity of this error. I mean it's not rocket science. If the permissions are 777 on a normal ufs filesystem on a server owned by the user who's trying to write to that file system and the application is breaking, claiming that it's not allowed to write to a filesystem it own must be a problem with the app. I tore out what little hair I have left and rebooted that box, restarted the sapinst from scratch (same options - except start new install).. Voila .. it worked ... It doesn't really explain why this was happening but my problem is solved. I hate these kinds of solutions because it doesn't explain WHY. Anyway, Thanks to all who helped!!! I really appreciate it. Kind regards, John | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
