Yes - why don't you ask them?

I cannot pass on client specific details for obvious reasons but even if
you look at how other companies deal with orders of this type you will
receive an initial estimate and then improved (usually) dates when they
know more - so if you order a custom spec Macbook Pro from Apple say they
will estimate a delivery week perhaps 7-8 weeks in the future and then
update an estimated ship date once the build plan is updated.

Do you have super complex MTO, or massively complex projects that an
initial estimated timeframe is just not practical as the build time can be
so incredibly diverse?

So you propose to use RLT even in MTO process, did you apply it to any business, I feel business will not accept this proposal especially in MTO?
