If it is custom variant on existing functionality (e.g. performing a finance posting) then I prefer to use an existing auth object that is being used to control similar functionality in standard SAP. If it is doing something different or an additional level of control is required then a custom one can be created, making sure that you have not only the org level but activity. Cheers
