This has worked this way in all ABAP SAP systems for years. The only other thing I can think to ask is, did you make the parameter change in the default profile, or the instance profile? The default for this parameter is "1", which means "disable the default SAP* user". If you set the parameter to "0" in the default profile, but the instance profile is set to "1", then the instance profile would take precedence over the default profile. You can also try executing the following command at the OS level to display the current value of the parameter (assumes the system is up and running) - sapcontrol -nr <inst#> -function ParameterValue login/no_automatic_user_sapstar Substitute the appropriate 2-digit instance number for <inst#> in the above command. The output should look something like this - 24.06.2016 15:44:31 ParameterValue OK 0 Other than that, check for spelling errors and verify again that there isn't any SAP* user existing in the USR02 table.
