Reply from Ajay_Sood on Dec 27 at 8:06 PM With due respect to Shantanu, I would say marks does matter specially when you are in a country like India where there is a pool of consultants available for every module. I have seen a hiring pattern for all the tier 1 consulting, HR doesn't process the application beyond screening stage if the marks are below 60%. I know, its useless to go after grades of a person with relevant exp. but sadly it's true only in few economies including India. Scenario is although different for tier 2 and tier 3 consulting org's and the customers, they do hire whole heartedly just on the basis of the practical experience. My personal opinion is, with knowledge of 2 modules under your belt you should try to learn more and transform your career into either one of these (or may be both depending on your hold of the business scenario and functionality) as a consultant without getting bothered about those tier 1 consultings, who knows scenario will change in coming years. Cheers!!!
