Reply from hemant_soley on Dec 24 at 3:38 AM I am not a SAP user, but we had developed a system to account such parts in Inventory & transact. The Organization was dealing with about 100,000 SKUs in Inventory,Each new part (stock able in Inventory) was assigned a stock number, while the same part if repaired & is decided to stock , is assigned the same stock number but with prefix R, 7 taken to stock & transacted.
This was also useful , in particularly, when we this part has to be sent for out of plant, for repair & you have to issue a separate Purchase Order, inspection , payment etc.
This system worked well (in Oracle) & still continuing.
If interested I can elaborate more.

I have a request from management to return 4 USED materials from a Machine within my plant(functional location) to my storage location. I created new material numbers for the 4 used materials as the value has decreased. It was calculated at 2/3 of the original buying value) as per Management.How do I book these spares into my store so that deduction(saving) shows on the machine from where it came, to an increase in my store stock level? |
