A major portion of setting up SAP FI is the Chart of Accounts, especially the General Ledger. SAP provides standard charts of accounts for most countries. If this is a new business, you can start with one for the country of operation. Existing companies compare their existing charts to those in SAP to decide on the best set-up. I think every SAP chart has the GR/IR account. That is standard for the SAP Procure-to-Pay process. I will let accountant speak to the Bal. Sheet or P&L question. Tom
