Possible reason:
Check if you have any custom code / treatment (E,g,: userexit, badi, enhancement).
Usually it happens due to some inconsistency of abap code generating an internal error (even compiling the code). If so, the system set that new Shipment
Number to the memory updating Number Range table before.

For example, shipment numbers generated are 1016, 1017, 1018, 1019, 1020,
1030, 1031 and so on. The numbers between 1020 and 1030 are missing. What
