There are two cross-plant statuses you may be interested in. There is one at the material level (MARA-MSTAE) and one at the plant level (MARC-MMSTA).

You seem to be interested in the plant-level status, but you may want to verify that the plant status is always the relevant status. It's entirely possible for a material to have a status set at the material level, but no status at a plant level.

The quick way to identify materials that have a cross-plant status is to use the SE16 or SE16N transaction searching for materials (MARC) and material/plant (MARC) that have a status (MARC-MMSTA) that is non-blank. It's hard to tell whether you also wish to report on materials that have no cross-plant status, but that would mean reporting on every material in every plant.

You can also set up one of the Mass Maintenance transactions (MM17, MM46) to search for materials based on cross-plant status, but that's really only useful if you intend to mass change the statuses on some materials. It's usually easier just to look at the relevant table using SE16.

If this is a query you are going to run regularly, then you may want a custom SQL Query that you set up using SQVI. It can be tricky learning SAP SQL viewer and it's usually only necessary if you need to join tables to limit your search properly or display all the related data you want. If you are only interesting in certain material types (MARA-MTART), then you may need to join tables so that you only report on the materials that are relevant.

You can set up a variant against the MARC table using SE16N and produce an nice ALV report as long as all you need to display is the material, plant, and cross-plant status (plus any other plant-level field that are useful).

Are you supposed to report on every part in every plant, including those that have no cross-plant status?

Good luck,
Carl

How can I get a list of materials by xplant material status? I need a list the materials by status at each plant.

Thank you.
