You can invent a new characteristic using CT04 and assign your new selected set to that characteristic. Then, use QS23 to change the inspection characteristic to use the new Class Characteristic. When I do this it is an annoying 2-step process. I must first blank out the Class Characteristic on QS23, de-select the Control Indicator for Charac. Attribute, and save the characteristic. Then I can run QS23 again, set the Control Indicator for Charac. Attribute, and hit Enter. The second control indicator screen pops up; hit Enter again. The Catalog dialog pops up. You can Cancel out of the dialog to return to the QS23 main screen. Enter your new Class Characteristic. The new selected set will automatically be assigned. You can also keep the original batch characteristic (although I don't think I'd recommend this). Use CT04 to replace the Selected Set using your newly created selected set. Save. Use QS23 to blank out the Class characteristic as described above and then return to QS23 to add the same Class Char to the inspection char again. This will bring in your new selected set. The previously created inspection lots with the "old" version of the inspection characteristic will continue to use the original selected set when users record results. Frankly, I'd be inclined to create a new inspection characteristic and a new batch characteristic to go with your new selected set to manage your new requirements. You can use QS27 to replace the old characteristic with the new one on any existing routings or inspection plans. Good luck, Carl

We have a qualitative MIC in the system created with selected set xy and I have been asked to change it to another selected set zz. I could update it in t-code CT04, but in QS23 under "Catalogs" where I can enter one more entry for selected set (the initial one is there in grey and cannot be deleted), I am not able to add it under catalog nr. 1 as it was used for initial selected set. I get an error message that it is not possible to use catalog type 1 or 3. But my new selected set exists only under catalog type 1. Do I have to create a new MIC or is it possible to swap the selected set within the already created MIC, please? Thank you for your advices in advance.
