thanks for your effort, I have found the cause at last. The document was created by interface and marked as Noted Items in the header record - the field BKPF-BSTAT has a value of "S". In this case the document is not actually posted, so upon reversal no negative items are needed, the document is just marked "Reversed by" and the reversal document has nothing but the header record.
Rocco, your advice aimed my analytical effort into the right direction, thanks!

SAP FI transaction FB08 creates documents with no line items
Under some unclear conditions, the FB08 transaction (Document reversal) posts a reversal document with NO line items in BSEG table, just a header entry in the BKPF table. Both documents are marked properly in the header (Reversed by....& Reversal doc for.....)with the mutual document number reference, but the reversal document has no values posted, so the reversal is invalid.
The problem is apparently independent of document type and posting period used. |
