Reply from basuari on Mar 31 at 12:28 AM This question can never be answered by 'Yes' or 'No' kind of answer in any public forum. Everyone's situation is unique and can be well understood by himself only, I mean to say mid age career shift also depends on financial situation, family responsibility and support, mid-age learning aptitude, etc.... But I am sure you should have 2 answers clear in your mind if you take any decision in this regard, firstly, how passionate you are about your new career ( in this case SAP) and secondly, your need for career shift ( I mean to say, your desperation level ), rest will follow you! You join a local training center, because certification is not mandatory to join top MNCs. You can get certified later also. What is important is your SAP knowledge. They will charge around 25-30k. You can learn the basics and work on standard order to cash cycle, procure to pay cycle, and by the time you finish the training, you will have a fair idea about how SAP works and how best you will be able to handle it. Live environment is totally different than training environment. I am 38 now, started at the age of 35. Worked for almost nothing for two years and now stabilized. I also had a bit of luck. So everything depends on your hard work, perseverance, little bit of luck. But you can definitely join even at this age. You will not get somebody half your age as Raja said but normally ABAP people will be around 22-24 years of age and functional people will be around 26-30+ years of age. Don't worry about they being kids. They all know how difficult it is to make a career. | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
