It depends on which authorization objects check the transaction you are
using.
Some transactions offer a yes/no use... while others offer much more
possibilities.
Which authorization transaction and authorization object are you using?

Hi. I would like to find out some ways to customize the authorization object. Currently the dilemma is giving read access to an HR Business Partner on some countries and write access on some others, depending on their client group.

I think there is a way to customize this (i.e. through combination of Personnel Area, Org Unit, and Executive) but I keep getting a pushback from our IT support that SAP works by standard authorization object only - basically all or nothing. User cannot have both read only and update access w/in SAP. Once the client user has update access he/she will have the same for any roles added (i.e. US, Thailand, China). One cannot have read only for China and update for US.
Please advise.
