I think it's not mandatory to put the value at the last or beginning what matters is the value should be there
And \bin should be at the last of your directory value
That is C:\**************.12\bin

I'm very new in SAP BASIS. I'm installing SAP IDES 6 SR2. how to set parameter in Environment Variable, Please check below.
My current parameter:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\Sys tem32\Wbem;C:\j2sdk1.4.2_12\bin
(here i have added java bin folder path at the end.)
OR, should i delete everything & paste only below line.
C:\j2sdk1.4.2_12\bin
