why did I add the path at the beginning? to avoid having any other Java engine installed to be used. in some cases, you might find java.exe in c:<windows<system32. In your case, JAVA 1.4.2 MUST be used, or, you will hit issues.

I'm very new in SAP BASIS. I'm installing SAP IDES 6 SR2. how to set parameter in Environment Variable, Please check below.
My current parameter:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\Sys tem32\Wbem;C:\j2sdk1.4.2_12\bin
(here i have added java bin folder path at the end.)
OR, should i delete everything & paste only below line.
C:\j2sdk1.4.2_12\bin
