Reply from JG-SAPHR on Oct 15 at 3:38 AM The different shifts can be covered by DWS, PWS, WSR's. Change in Shift can be achieved by entering IT 2003. Every employee may not change the shift. Converting Extra hrs during any shift can be taken care of by PCR's in the time schema. Shifts can be split and the extra hrs can be changed to a different proc type and then added to a time type, which is used to generate comp off in V_T559L, this generation will be daily. It can be configured for selected emp sub group grpg. However as Amit said, hospitals would need certain type of skills like doctors, specialists, nurses, etc in each shift. It would be better to use Shift Planning for selected OU's, where the necessary empl subgroups and skills/levels can be used for shift planning. Each employee with shift plan will have a WSR. A shift plan can be changed any time - e.g., change a DWS to off or vice versa. The shift types can be configured to generate IT 2001, 2002, 2003, etc. These along with the normal DWS will be used in time eval to generate suitable time w/t's, any comp off as mentioned above. Check Shift planning in Help portal, IMG. also within this SAP HR topic.
