I did a fresh install of a Solution Manager SR1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008. I used a simple Master password: sapsma_2014 (so without any "&" or "@"). I used the SAP KERNEL 721 EXT UC X64 for SWMP 06. I checked the master password on SAP GUI with user SAP*, on NWA with user J2EE_USER, and on SDM remote GUI: No problem. I have installed running and maintenance license. I have download the last SUM Tool: SUM10SP11_8-20006676 I have downloaded the last Kernel update: SAPEXE_300-10011367 SAPEXEDB_300-10011366 I run the SUM tool and still have the same error at execution phase: --- The following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sdt.j2ee.tools.controlservice.ServiceControllerException: Cannot install and start service for instance 0 on host SAPSMA. Could not run OS process sapstartsrv.exe for action install service. Could not start process D:\usr\sap\SMA\DVEBMGS00\exe\sapstartsrv.exe. Error while executing process D:\usr\sap\SMA\DVEBMGS00\exe\sapstartsrv.exe. java.lang.NullPointerException: null java.lang.NullPointerException . --- I run on a VM so I can quickly go back to snapshot and retry. I am ready to make other tests but I don't really know what to do. Any help would be great. :) Regards all Francois-Xavier LEVY | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | In the Spotlight Become a blogger at Toolbox.com and share your expertise with the community.
