Once it is active, Audit profile will remain active and you can consult the info whenever you want, although there's a period of time were the files remain on the system before they get deleted. You must set instance profile parameter rsau/enable = 1 , otherwise audit will get disabled next time you stop SAP. It is advisable to check for things at least once a month, but this should be told to you by the corresponding security/IT/ Audit department. In several clients I used to do this once a month when I also checked for EWA monthly results. Hope to have answered your question.
