David, the proper question is
how on earth does luca reach that limit? are you reading a huge table (like bseg for instance..) into memory?

And... HOW long does this program needs to run before it reaches that short dump point....?

You don't need to know the max rows. The problem is the design of your program .. if you are filling multiple itabs and then have no need for the data in those itabs before you fill others - flush the itab ? don't do select * into ? look at your design. You should never have "so much" in memory where you are wondering if you are going to get a dump.
