I did a test on my test system :
An (fast)approach could be : delete the single role. In doing the deletion the system is coming with the request should it be deleted from the composite roles. Click on yes and the assignments and the single role is deleted. When you still need the single role afterwards then you should download this role first. After deletion you can create this single role again via the upload.
(execute this on development system and transport the composite roles to Production system)
