Reply from Santosh.Vukkalkar on Sep 23 at 6:59 AM Hi, You can do both the ways but SAP system copy is standed and easy way. As you heard, you can do copy past directories /oracle, /usr/sap and /sapmnt. In this method you have to required OS expertise. In this you have to create SAP, DB users and groups as per you production server. have to set environment variable for db and sap according to the users. have to set the permission, owners and group for directories. have to copy service file from production server. have to edit hosts file. Regards, Santosh.

You restore the database as per the homogeneous system guide. Then, you run post-steps to rename host names and/or IP address if needed. Finally, you MUST upgrade your kernel to make it compatible to AIX 6.1. You might also need to upgrade Oracle components to get compatible to AIX 6.1. | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
