What you are suggesting is what we are thinking of doing. We are trying to find a way to make those 500 GL into a template in SAP so that every time when we acquire a new company, these 500 GL can be assigned to the new company automatically. So far, excel file seemed to be what other SAP companies use. I wonder if SAP has some function that we can use for this purpose.

Is it common practice for a large corporation to create a COA template so that every new company setup will have the same basic set of GL accounts (instead of assigning the entire global COA to a new company?)
