Reply from jc_plummer on Jul 28 at 10:21 PM By "start and end dates" are you referring to the basic start and basic finish dates? Check to see if the "automatic" scheduling box is pre-selected when the order is generated (especially from a planned preventive order). Also check to see the value that is in the "adjust" dates box generally blank to allow the basic dates to adjust to the scheduled dates. If the automatic scheduling is checked and dates are allowed to adjust, then (assuming forward scheduling) the basic start date will stay the same and the basic finish date will adjust out to be the same as the basic start date plus the cumulative duration of relevant operations. Given those settings, even the priority field will be overridden when the order automatically schedules. You can replicate this by creating an order, inputting a priority, inputting operations duration, displaying the details under the basic start dates on the header tab, then clicking the "schedule& quot; icon on the tool bar. Planning and metrics should generally use the schedule dates, not the basic dates. Cheers! Jeff

My planners complain that the start and end dates are the same when they schedule their maintenance plans. How do we get the orders to come out with a different Basic End Date from the Basic Start Date? Thanks, Janis | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
