Reply from sop57 on Jun 1 at 9:42 PM Hi, The point of freezing the inventory is that when the count results are posted, they are posted with reference to the stock at the time of freezing. E.g. stock of A has a book quantity of 100. The count finds 95. Between counting and the posting 20 are used so there are 80 on the book at the time of posting. When the count is posted the stock is reduced to 75 (the difference between the frozen quantity and the count quantity). This means that the posting of the count can be done at a later time and does not stop any movements occurring (providing that there are no movements done between the time of freezing and the count being done). If you do not freeze the inventory, then no movements can be allowed until the count results have been posted. Also by freezing the book inventory, this value can be seen in the documents when using any of the stock count analysis programs (MI20, MI24 etc). Regards, SOP57
