Reply from LCC352 on Feb 10 at 10:33 AM I've always found that a trial balance by company code is one of the best pieces of evidence for SOX and general auditing you can run when upgrading. Run the trial balances (and any other reports you might want to run from cost center/profit center accounting, etc.) prior to the upgrade and run them after. If they agree, the data is intact.
Another thing we've done in conjunction with that is to have the basis team do counts of records on the key tables in the database. if counts before = counts after, you have a reasonable expectation that your reports will be good and vice versa.
