Hi,

I'm in the exact situation right now.
I have to migrate the following.
Initial System: SID = PRD / SAP ERP 6.0 / Kernel 7.00 / SQL Server 2005 / Windows Server 2003
Final System: SID = DEV / SAP ERP 6.0 / Kernel 7.20_EXT / SQL Server 2012 / Windows Server 2012

So the step I was trying to do, was
0. Instal SQL Server 2012
1. Restor SQL Server 2005 BKP to SQL Server 2012. -- OK
2. Rename DB from PRO to DEV and rise compatibility level. -- OK
3. Use SWPM 1.0 SP04 to install as Homogenous Copy. The homogenus copy runs ok until it stop to this point and all steps from SWPM are for SQL 2005 DB. and for 2012.

Errors when executing sql command: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Could not find stored procedure 'sp_dboption'.
<p> SOLUTION: If this message is displayed as a warning, you can ignore it. If this is an error, contact SAP support. </p>

So now I'm changing, I don't know if it will work.

1. Instal SQL Server 2005 over Windows Server 2012.
1. Restor SQL Server 2005 BKP to SQL Server 2005.
2. Rename DB from PRO to DEV and rise compatibility level.
3. Use SWPM 1.0 SP04 to install as Homogenous Copy. The homogenous copy runs ok until it stop to this point and all steps from SWPM are for SQL 2005 DB. Upgrade Kernel

Franklin

Subject: Migrate SAP DB from SQL 2005 to SQL 2012

Hi,

I'm analysing the possibility to upgrade SAP DB from SQL 2005 to SQL 2012.
Based on this, we have:
OS: Windows 2008 Standard
DB: SQL 2005

To

OS : Windows 2012 Standard
DB: SQL 2012

The idea is:
1- Install fresh machine in Windows 2012 and with SQL 2012
2- Update os necessary SAP SP's

3- Export DB from original system (SQL 2005)
4- Install SAP on new system (with W2012 and SQL 2012)
5- Possible Kernel update
6- Import DB to new system
7- Post-implementation

The first two steps I don't have any doubt, but the following steps I have doubts.
Can anyone explain how is this done? Is there any process description of this? Specially the export/import and Post-implementation processes?

Thanks!
