You're really asking about configuration and testing hours, both within your organization and externally with the bank(s) concerned, as well as the expense of acquiring a MICR-capable printer with cartridge.
You haven't identified the scope of this. How many company codes in SAP need this? How many banks do you use for checks? How many printer points are needed within the AP group? How long a test cycle will your bank(s) need? All these items add dollars to the implementation / conversion expense.
