Reply from pairajesh on Feb 19 at 2:40 AM Pekka, You have done good research on the subject :). I think you have concluded correctly. My view on the subject is, the planning period for Capacity availability check & the Operation load need to have one to one ratio so as to do correct capacity planning. In all other cases where there is Capacity deficit or no Capacity the Operation dates will be same as the rescheduled dates ie. no changes in the scheduled dates of the order. I would appreciate if you could bit throw light on how the rescheduled dates are communicated to Sales order in terms of the settings required. Thank you. Rajesh

I know that what I am trying to do is probably not possible in standard SAP. The best behaviour in our process is: 1. when finite scheduling is done the operations' date would be moved according to the available capacity (works ok) 2. if no available capacity is found in the planning period then the production order date would set as the end of the planning period. I guess the biggest problem from SAP point of view is that if there is no capacity then operation cannot be scheduled properly during capacity check => operation dates are not changed => production dates are not adjusted. The end result does not make sense to me but I can see how SAP would see it... I tested if "Creation control if capacity is missing" in OPJK would work, but apparently it applies only to planned order to production order conversion. At least it did not seem to change the behaviour in assembly orders. I also thought to change the message control for the capacity check messages (C7056 and CY744), but apparently it is not possible for that work area. So I guess we'll have to do some modification in the code. Unfortunately SAP does not provide many options for production orders, the user exists are limited... Lets see. Thanks for all the answers in any case. - Pekka | | Reply to this email to post your response. __.____._ | _.____.__ |
