Yes, Horacio's right. If you use SO as hidden, it can not be maintained, but you (programmer) can use it. All select should take S_1, S_2,S_3 into consideration in both cases .. (Select * from xxx into yyyy where? sss IN s_2)

What's the problem with S_3? .

If you hide S_2, then the user can't enter values (as S_2 does not "exist" for him. But the table and the default values you can hard-code in your program are available to be used in your conditions (i.e. if, check, where ...)

Perhaps a snippet of your code could help. Perhaps if you clarify a bit more the problem, it could help too.
