Reply from VidhyaDhar on Dec 7 at 3:46 AM Hi, Let us understand the underlying concept regarding the use of more than once chart of accounts. Usual reporting ( and document posting ) happens for a company code using the operating chart of accounts. If you intend consolidating your accounts at the company level ( and the participant company codes use different operating chart of accounts ), then you use a Group chart of accounts ( using the group account number ) and such group chart of accounts is assigned to the operating chart of accounts. If you have a country specific reporting format, then your company code uses a country chart of accounts comprising alternative account numbers for such reporting. Thus a company code uses: an operating chart of accounts for document posting and reporting an additional group chart of accounts for consolidation and a country chart of accounts for country specific reporting ( this country specific chart of accounts can also be useful if you migrate your data from an external system ). Your requirement determines the number of chart of accounts used by you ( ranging from one to three ). Regards, VidhyaDhar
