Reply from LCC352 on Sep 10 at 1:11 PM Hi, Layla - Let me clearly state some of the areas to check so that you can figure out where you go from here: - Check the cost centers for use in other modules: - Project System - settlement rules, owner cost centers - Plant Maintenenance - settlement rules, owner cost centers - Distributions and Assessments in CO. - Validations and Substitutions in FI. - Materials Management including requisitions, PO's, blanket orders, Service orders, etc. - Supply & Distribution areas that allow a default cost center - Check the cost centers for use in alternate hierarchies and reports (Painter, writer, etc) Some of those items may have been configured. A simple "where used" list will not do it for all. - Examine how many months/years of data already exist in the database: - Determine the level of detail required. - Analyze the use of cross-company documents in the mix to assess the migration strategy - Develop a plan for migration, including any programming needed to retrieve/re-enter the transactions involved. Also remember that even when you succeed in moving the data from one cost center to another, you will lose the audit trail - that is, if you display a PO that charged an old cost center, drilling into the line items of that PO will not tell you where the money went to the new cost center. You should think about building that into your migration programming. Use fields like text fields or header texts, etc., that you might be able to say "see CC 1234567" as an audit trail. Good luck! - Lou

Can anyone let me know what is the impact of change cost center structure?
