Reply from VidhyaDhar on Aug 24 at 5:20 AM Hi If you have both period intervals 1 and 2 open, then posting of documents can happen via both intervals ( using open periods mentioned in period interval 1 and those in period interval 2 ) . If you have defined an authorization group, then period interval related postings are restricted to users covered by the authorization group only. But any user can post via period interval 2. Let us assume that you are in the process of closing the books for year 2011 and this protrudes into the first week of year 2012 ( assuming that you use calendar year as fiscal year ) Period interval 1 and period interval 2 are concurrently kept open during period closing of year 2011 so that period interval could use (2011) year-end closing entries ( even using special periods ) posted by important staff covered in the authorization group whereas (2012) current year's routine entries are posted daily via the second period interval by any user. The twilight period involving postings of both the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012 can be thus handled. Regards VidhyaDhar
