original post. The question is not about whether partial transfer can be
done. It is about whether such a transfer can be done effective from a
prior year. And the answer is - No. And, it is No for any transaction,
including a full transfer, since the Asset Value Date needs to be in the
current open year.

While using the T.code ABUMN there are three options wherein you can either
transfer the values partially, you can also mention the % you want to
transfer or by mentioning the quantity and value of asset you want to
transfer.
