Yes, it is possible to make it:
1) go to the screen for saving the variant
2) go to the field Posting date
3) on the right you wil find the field Selection variable
4) set it as Dynamic Variable
5) select (with F4) in the list: previous month.
The corresponding selection will be dynamically set at runtime.
