If there is 1 line it will bring back 1 line.
If there are multiple lines it will bring back multiple lines.
Are you saying that is is bringing back the same line multiple times?
Each query has an ABAP behind it.
Go into debug and set a break point in READ_TEXT.
See how many times it goes into READ_TEXT and also what it does with the text when it comes out of READ_TEXT
