Hi JG,

Thanks for the reply. My problem here is that PRCL 71 is read directly by the USTAX function that's interfaced with a 3rd party tax calculator (BSI Tax Factory) so I'm unable to tell the schema how to process the wage type unless we customize the function (which of course, is not an option!).

Anyways, I came up with a bright idea to zero out the wage type just before it goes through USTAX and store the amount into a dummy wage type. After tax gets calculated, I will return the amount back to the deduction wage type so I can still report it in the RT.

Thanks again for the thoughts!

Regards,
MQL

Subject: Way to Change a Processing Class Value for a Specific Wage Type Via a PCR?

We currently have a setup of wage types that deducts from the taxable base based on the value of PRCL 71. These wage types are shared amongst employees across different States in the US. However, due to variances in State tax laws, one specific wage type is not considered tax-exempt for the state of Pennsylvania.

I know there is a way to query the value of the processing class via operation VWTCL. However, is there a way to change the value of the processing class via a PCR so that we will not have to create a new wage type specific to Pennsylvania residents?

Thanks!
