Hello experts,
Looking for best approach to address CATS recording via ESS when HCM (ESS) is in a separate SAP R/3 system.
Our HCM ESS is based out of SAP R/3 EHP4 while all other modules are going to be in a separate system on EH5. We are using CATS via ESS for time recording for all the employee. Some of the employees are recording time against order number. My problem is how to handle this scenario. For example...
(1) Should an ALE/interface bring Order Master from non-HCM system to HCM which can be used for time recording? Then send back CATS data to for postings?
OR
(2) Should CATS user-exit bypass order validation and employee manually enter order number? (Not a good idea as it would lead to human error.)
OR
(3) is there way to point ESS to other system as and when needed
OR
Any other solution/input would be highly appreciated as I'm running out of ideas.
