Hi All,
We are having a problem in approving leave requests through ESS.The problem has been persisting for last two months. We are resorting to manual approval to keep things at bay. The problem characteristics are:
1. The leave requests generated by some employees are only having the problem. But the number of affected employees are increasing.
2. The leave requests always remain in the "READY" status.
3. Work items appear in the approver's inbox in some cases. In somre cases it does not appear at all. When the approver tries to approve the following error message is shown:
"Work Item 0000000000 cannot be read."
The work item disappears from the approver's inbox.Approver cannot approve any other leave after this.
4. When the requester tries to cancel the request the same error occurs.
We have checked the Work flow logs as well as workflow related database tables. Two noticeable points are:
a. The table SWWLOGHIST has an entry with the method field having the value
SAP_WAPI_RESERVE_WORKITEM for the problem creating work items .
b. The RFC Error Log (Tcode SM58) shows an error
"The initial password has expired (request a new one)"
for employees whose leave requests are having this problem.
Kindly give your valuable suggestions on why this problem is occurring and how this can be rectified
