Try to check and see if your have in file .login or .profile a line like this:
setenv MAILMSG "[YOU HAVE NEW MAIL]"

If you do, then try to delete the "["
and log in again.

I followed the installation guide. It was a heterogeneous system copy of SAP ERP 6.0 from sun Solaris to IBM AIX environment.

John Matta,

Your solution works. When I log in my default SHELL is csh. What I don't understand is why I have to enter csh at the prompt.
