X_CONS is for MaxDB database, try looking at log in sap installation directory.

Subject: How to monitor SAPinst
I am running an IDES ECC 6.0 installation which show 'phase is in progress' message but seems nothing is happen, so I try to check the console activity at command prompt by running
x_cons <SID> sh ac 1
But window did not accepts it saying :x_cons is not recognise as internal or external command
