Not at all, this is not what I am saying, sales order process remains same whether EDI or ALE,
just understand what these two term stand for.

Your customer and vendors may not be using SAP so EDI means map their sales order to sap sales order and so on .. thus EDI and mapping and blah blah. So your case is not EDI it is ALE
now your promotions are internal matters so ALE.

I recommend Arvind Nagpal EDI-ALE book, it costs nuts but is worth million dollars
read it and then we will resolve the issues .

So, if I understand correctly, you are saying that the EDI process for
creating SO's (which we are already using) is riding so tightly on the
VA01/VA02 code, that any exit I use to change the functioning of that code
will automatically pick all EDI SO processes? That would indeed be helpful.

So you would ignore the possibility of linking this in through contracts
(not currently implemented) and go with a well designed Z-Table and user
exit combination?
