Hi Gary, When a PO is created, it creates a commitment against the count number it is created against, whether it is stock account, cost centre, or WBS element. When you cancel the PO, then money amount affected is returned to the requisition in case of requisition created in R3, or the shopping cart created in SRM. To cancel the PO, selected the line on the PO and trash it by clicking on the trash can, then save the document. You can do that by viewing the PO in ME23N; activate the document by clicking on the pencil in the top tool bar, then selecting the items in the line, click on the trash can, and then save to document to change the PO status. If a GRN was create that should not have been done in the first place, ensure to reverse it first before cancelling the PO.

My client has never carried forward cost centre commitments so when they done this for the first time earlier this year, they carried forward over ?20 million of commitments (thousands of individual entries). They were expecting to de-commit these one by one by setting the relevant indicators in the SRM PO items, however, because some of these are over 5 years old they are hitting a lot of problems with users who no longer exist, cost centres that are locked, other organizational data and vendors that have changed or been deleted etc. They have asked if these commitments can be deleted on mass. Now I seem to remember there being a report that deletes commitments, but I can't remember. Does anyone know how to delete commitments on mass? Thanks a lot.
