Try:
3. Make sure that all redo log groups are archived
4. Start the OraBRCopy tool as an OS user with Oracle DBA privileges:
user ora<dbsid>
user <sapsid>adm
n On UNIX, enter the following commands:
./ora_br_copy.sh –generateFiles –forceLogSwitches —targetSid <TARGET_DBSID>
—password <system's password> —listenerPort <listener port>
n On Windows, enter the following commands:
ora_br_copy.bat –generateFiles –forceLogSwitches —targetSid <TARGET_DBSID>
—password <system's password> —listenerPort <listener port>
The tool creates the files CONTROL.SQL, CONTROL.TRC and init<targetSID>.ora in your
installation directory, shuts down and restarts the database and performs the required log switches.

We are doing QAS system refresh from PRD offline backup.

we are unable to create control file by
ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE;
in prd system.
is it due to oracle 11g or some other issues
because commend does not generate any file in /oracle/<SID>/saptrace/usertrace
could you please suggest me any guide and tutorial for quality system refresh by backup restoration method. we not want to do this by export/import.
