Yes you are correct.
When we perform a export of the sap system using sapinst(homogeneous or
heterogeneous) , the export dump is not dependent on target system.
Only in case of hetro. we required the migration keys.
So in all the steps mentioned below are correct and it should work.
Please let the group also know the result of your migration in order to help
the community.

If I understood you right , this what I would do:
1) Run SAP Master DVD (64-bit ECC 5 setup )
2) Select System copy -->Oracle (Database and Central Instance Export)
3) It will ask for Oracle version , select 9i
4) It will ask for Oracle Bit version , select 32-bit.
----> The export created will it be Oracle version and Bit independent ?
5) Start installation of Oracle 10g(64-bit version) on new hardware.
6) Once done, "Import" of D24 system in new hardware , where at a stage it will ask for Kernel DVD. Provide path of 64-bit Kernel DVD for ECC5.
7) System will be mounted with same SID, but 64-bit SAP and 64-bit Oracle 10g
Am I correct ?
Please correct me if I am wrong.
