Thanks again Robin - I think (for my first attempt anyhow) this will be the approach I take regarding hosts file (to be on the safe side).

I am planning on doing a system copy of our SAP Netweaver CE system 7.1 EHP1 (java only) which has Environmental Compliance (EC) add on 3.0 (prod copy to test system).
Is anyone aware of any specific EC system copy steps?
