Thank you! We haven't closed the asset year yet but this makes sense & I'll test in our test system first.

Subject: How do I correct planned depr in tax depr areas in SAP Fixed Assets for prior year?

Asset Accountant has discovered three assets that did not calculate special deprecation correctly for tax books (areas 10 and 11) for FY 2010. Depr key was correctly defined but now AW01N shows that depreciation for these assets needs to be recalculated but cannot because 2010 financial close is complete but Asset year has not been closed. What is best practice for making these adjustments? Is it to post unplanned depr via ABAA or do a revaluation via AR29N? Or some other method? Only the tax book depr areas are incorrect. Area 01 book depr is correct so GL will not be affected.
