Hello Bilal,
Any chance it has to do with this topic, SAP Note 1442028?
Else I would agree to installing the latest patches and if it can't be resolved, to contact SAP.
With best regards
Robin

Subject: SAPGUI 7.20 not able to open attachments while SAPGUI 6.20 can

Hi All,

We had been using SAPGUI 6.20 in our company for very long time. Recently I updated few users with SAPGUI 7.20 Compilation 2 (last patch on SMP). They are facing a peculiar problem. They are not able to open some attachments in the new GUI which had been uploaded using older GUI. Some files that are uploaded/attached using the new GUI is also not opened later on. These files are basically Excel, html (outlook messages, or msg format, etc). Such documents are basically support documents for transactions attached in "Services for object" of Purchase orders/sales orders/etc. Anybody having any experience of handling these issues in the new GUI, pls share. We have had currently users to go back to the older version, which I do not prefer.

I think the new GUI probably resticts certain files due to security issues but there should be a way to open vast number of earlier attached documents using the new GUI.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
Bilal
