Subject: SCC8 'copy profiles' - which to use?

Our basis team is doing a refresh copy from production to our sandbox this weekend. Previously, they used the SCC8 transaction with the copy profile "SAP_USER." However, this variant also exported the role definitions. Since our sandbox is not in the transport path, the good roles copied from production were then overwritten with the old, bad roles from the sandbox when they ran the SCC7 import.

We have looked at the SCC8 documentation of copy profiles here:

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm32/helpdata/en/99/0a 2a887e2511d2a6250000e82deaaa/content.htm

but we are not sure which of the copy profiles is right for us.

We want to:

1) export/import the sandbox users and role assignments, but not the role definitions themselves. Note: our roles are assigned to positions, not persons.

2) export customizations like RFC connections and definitions of LDAP connectors so we don't have to manually set them up after the copy.

Question 1 is the main concern, but we'd appreciate any insights anyone has to offer.

Apologies if this group is not appropriate for this question -- it kind of is in a gray area for us between basis and security.

Jeff
